One day I'll surprise everyone and actually wear matching gloves in my photos, until then I'll just pretend that I'm all cool and starting some sort of trend. (After all, if Helena Bonham Carter can wear two different shoes to a red carpet appearance, I think I can get a pass with the gloves. Please?)
I'm not sure if this is true for all of them, but my 50mm f/1.8 lens doesn't seem to like the cold. It's fine up to zero degrees and in anything colder after that it just stops working. (Thank goodness for manual focus but still, it makes me feel bad about taking the camera out into the cold now.) I'm think I might switch back to the other lens just to save wear and tear on the nifty fifty during the colder weather. (Which I cannot complain about at all. It's been a rare day this month that it's dropped below zero and that's just crazy for it to be so warm this time of year. Pardon me for being a little bit happy about global warming.)
Alright, bedtime for me. Izzy is finally pass the coughing stage of croup and I am looking forward to a decent amount of sleep for both her and myself tonight.
Is that snow ever going to melt? :)
ReplyDeleteHah, I wish it would! We're stuck with it until May and every couple of years we get a small snow flurry in June. :P
DeleteBeautiful outfit!<3

I love your parka and blouse :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so casual chic! I always like what a statement necklace does to an outfit! Glad to hear your daughter is better. I am on your side - some of us are allowed to like global warming - although it more seems like we get the effect as it is described in the catastrophe movie "the Day after Tomorrow", we have had four extremely cold winters with a lot of snow!
ReplyDeleteBut both of your gloves seem to match your scarf so, yes, let's go with fashion statement :-)
ReplyDeleteYour wonderful pictures out here makes me feel bad for thinking it's too cold to take pictures indoors. In 60degree weather too!

Okay...how bad is it that I didn't even notice the mismatching gloves?
ReplyDeleteI'll blame it on the bold necklace and your pretty red hair for distracting me.
Haha, seriously, I love your statement necklace! What a pretty piece to have for a casual, cute outfit :)

Great news about Izzy! ^_^
ReplyDeleteAaaaand, you are totally cool wearing different gloves. Say it's a trend thing no one can understand, and hipsters will be all over it :D
About the camera, mine stops focusing when it's cold too. I think I read somewhere climate DOES affect it.
poor izzy. i hope she feels better too. now onto your outfit. i said, oh my gosh when i saw that fabulous jewelry. i like the top too, and of course the purse. i wouldn't have noticed your mismatched gloves, which just proves i'm not as observant as i'd like to think i am.
ReplyDeletehehe, what's up with you and those gloves? it's almost like the times when my fiance picks up two different socks :D now I just make sure his socks are properly paired.
ReplyDeleteanyway, I'm amazed by the beautiful combo of your classy blouse and that fantastic statement necklace. oh and what a gorgeous bracelet that is. btw, you should totally show your curious readers your wardrobe/jewellwery etc. a couple of photos would be lovely. think about it! ;)
Maiken,

That cuff is just gorgeous. I like how when it rides down your wrist it looks like it's an embellishment on your glove. Hmmm...now I'm thinking about the idea of pinning clip-on earrings to gloves to jazz them up a bit....
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your mismatched gloves actually make a great statement with your neutral jacket and black-and-white scarf. Looking back I'm thinking you should do this on purpose!
ReplyDeletecute outfit! I love the jacket.
